When I First Saw You

* 3 Years Earlier *

Nicki and her 3 close friends were out partying. They didn't have a care in the world. Nicki was more focused on her school work and would bearly go out so they really had to force her. It was a Friday night and she usually stayed home to watch her little brother but she got out of it. They went to Club Tobago in queens. They got there around 9 and as soon as they walked in they went to the bar. Nicki just sat down and ordered a water.
"Water Nic really? Have fun tonight" Nicki just looked away and watched the dance floor. She didn't realize she was being watched.
Across the room a guy a little older than her was falling in love with her smile. He finally walked over to her.
"Hi what's your name?" He asked nicely. She looked at him and laughed. Her friends looked at her shocked. "What the hell is wrong with her" they all thought while they exchanged looks.
"Well my name is Safaree" he continued while she laughed. "Your really beautiful and your laugh is too" then he smiled. When she saw his smile she got serious. She liked it but she didn't tell him that. "Thank you" she said turning in her chair then she saw all her friends give her the serious face. She was going to go find him but when she turned around he was still there, this made her smile. "Hi my name is Onika, Safaree". He liked how she said his name, he was speechless. He just looked at her. She was starring into his eyes. "Can we dance?" He asked when a slow song came on. They danced until her feet hurt then she went back to her seat and he followed. "I had a really nice time" he smiled, "but...." He looked up surprised. ' but what?' He thought to himself. "But I don't date guys I meet at clubs" Then she got up and walked out as her friends shook their heads and walked behind her. "Damn this isn't going to be easy, but I'll work for it" he thought to himself as he ordered a drink.
