The Silent Treatment

             Nicki had been crying for two hours now. She thought to herself maybe she should wake him up but she wasn't ready to admit she was wrong yet. He finally opened his eyes , he went to move then he felt a sharp pain in his foot. He yelled out causing Nicki to jump. She was cleaning up his room out of guilt. She really felt bad. She didn't know how to explain her self to him. 

"What the fuck did you do?" 

Nicki being the stubborn person she is yelled back at him. Instead of going with her well thought out apology she cursed him out and blamed him. 

"I didn't do anything! This is your fault!" 

"HOW!?!?" 

"Safaree don't act like you didn't leave me when I needed you the most"

"Onika, are you kidding!? You were SLEEPING! WTF could I do for you!?"

She started to lower her voice, "hold me......"

          SB got up and hopped to the couch. He didn't want look at her. At this point he was as mad at her as he had ever gotten. He thought he could never hold a grudge with her but that was then and she'd never physically hurt him before this. He began to think to himself how this could effect him. 

                     (SB POV)

What if I can't dance anymore? What if I start to walk funny? What if I can't ride any of my motorcycles? What if I can't forgive her?

(No POV)

              He felt a tear roll down his cheek but he didn't wipe it. He let it fall. Nicki has been sitting on the couch next to him for 10 minutes now and he didn't noticed. Either he didn't notice or he didn't care. Either way it hurt her. She just stared at him. She didn't know what to say. She knew she had to apologize. For hurting him and for blaming him. She just needed to know he forgave her. Before she knew it she woke up on the couch. She was surprised, he never let her stay there the whole night. She sighed because she figured she had a lot of making up to due. She stood up and went to go do her morning duties. 

               After her shower to went to find SB. "Want me to change your bandage?" She asked as he played Black Ops on his playstation. He didn't look away from his game. He just ignored her. She never knew how it felt to be ignored by him..... She didn't like it. He was her rock. When she broke down he held it together for both of them. She sighed and went to sit on his lap. She figured he would tell her move but at least he would be speaking to her. But she was wrong, he didn't say a word. He just continued to play the game. This made her mad. "I don't have time for your little attitude" she sighed and walked off after again not getting a response from him. She was tired of the games. 

SB still didn't want to talk to Nicki but he did notice she wasn't home. He started to wonder where she went. He called her phone then realized she left it. When he went to get it he saw a lot of text messages and calls to and from an unknown number. 'Wow, so she doing sneaky shit?' He asked hisself while putting down her phone and returning to his room. 

Surprise Visit

SB came in with his duffle bag around 4 P.M. The house was dark just like he left it. He figured Nicki was still in a bad mood. He went to drop off his gym bag and then shower before going to get her out of bed. When he opened his room door he heard light snores and smiled at the fact that Nicki went in there to find him. He took of his sneakers so he can quietly walk over to the bed to give Nicki a kiss before he got in the shower because he was sweaty, then he would lay with her until she woke up. While he was walking over he stepped on something and yelled.
"FUCKKKKKKKKKKK" he tried to stop yelling because she was sleep. He didn't want to wake her up but failed. She popped up when she heard him yell and ran over to turn on the light.
"Omg Safaree what are you doing here?" Nicki asked confused. SB didn't answer her, he was busy looking around in shock. He finally looked at his foot which caused him to get madder. He had blood dripping from his foot. SB liked to seem tough but he couldn't deny he hated blood. He could never stand the sight of it. He was across the room holding on to the dresser for support. Nicki looked down and noticed his cut. Before she could say something she saw his eyes close and he started to fall. She ran to catch him so he wouldn't fall but she was too late.
Nicki was panicking, she felt guilty and she was scared. She went downstairs to go get some water to pour on him. When she got back with a cold water bottle she stood in shock for a minute. She grabbed the alcohol and band aids off the dresser and started to clean him up before she actually woke him up just in case it was too over whelming for him again. She looked at the cut and wiped away the tear that escaped her eye. She no longer felt drunk, she didn't feel anything but the numbness in her heart. She was numb and mad at nobody but her self. Since she is so small he couldn't pick him up so she dragged him over to the bed and layed him down. His feet were hanging off the edge. She cleaned up his foot then put a bandage. She put him under the covers and went back to where he was sitting at first. It was then that she noticed all the blood he lost and she couldn't help but let her tears flow. She continued to cry as she walked to the bathroom to get some towels to clean up the floor although it was no use since it was white carpet. She began to get mad again. She was about to go into another drunken rage.
(Nickis POV)
This is his fault not mine! I shouldn't feel bad. I shouldn't even be helping him. He left. Who gave him the right to come back? I can't believe it. He left me but he got me feeling like this is my fault. Nigga how old are you? You should know to look down when your walking! Fuck this.
(No POV)
Nicki gave up cleaning the carpet and started to walk out the room. She noticed his bag on the floor and she walked over to it slowly. Wondering if she should look inside. She slowly unzipped it then she slid down the door in defeat. He hasn't left her, he just went to the gym for a couple of hours. That's when she seen a little paper under the dresser. It read ' Nic I'll be back, just need to work out, a coon gotta stay sexy ;) - BC1 ' Nicki began to cry. The note must have fallen because the window was open so she couldn't have seen it earlier. She felt stupid and she sat there crying her eyes out.

Does the Truth Mean GoodBye?

It's been two weeks since the affair started and SB was getting suspicious. Nicki didn't want to be with Tanya but she couldn't let SB find out what happened in 11th grade. She just couldn't. SB knew something was up. Nicki would leave late at night. She came back one morning with a hickey on her chest. SB saw it when she was changing then she quickly tried to hide it. SB wouldn't sleep with her any more. He'd rather stay on the couch. He bearly looked at her nor touched her. This was killing her. Some days she would come in crying. She couldn't take it any more.
"Safaree" She cried.
"What's wrong Nic?"
"I miss you"
"I'm always here what do you mean?"
"I have to tell you something"
(SB POV)
I'm tired of the lies. I honestly don't have time. I just hate to see her cry. I love her smile too much. I wonder what she has to tell me. Is she cheating on me? Is it over?
(No POV)
"Safaree are you listening?"
"Sorry, what were you saying?"
"In 11th grade I .... I .... I" Nicki started to cry even harder. SB rubbed her back. He had so many thoughts running through his head.
"It's okay Nic tell me"
"I kissed Tanya.... I don't know why! I just ..... I don't know! But I was curious and ....." She saw the smirk on his face . "What's so funny?!"
"Nicki I know that! I was there! What's the big secret!?"
Nickis eyes got wide. "Omg I feel so stupid Faree!!" She cried more. "Nicki babe what did I say? I'm sorry"
"Tanya.... She forced me to have an affair with her or she would tell you things, LIES! But I was scared and..."
"That's who gave you those hickeys?" SB said more calmly then she expected. Nicked just nodded without making eye contact. SB touched her chin and pushed her head up to make her look at him.
"You didn't have to do that Nicki, why didn't you just tell me?"
"I don't know Faree maybe because I'm stupid?" Nicki got up and went to her room. She didn't come out all day. Being with Tanya made her feel nasty. Not because Tanya is a girl but because she was a cheater. And all for no reason. She knew SB was mad but didn't say anything. But SB wasn't mad. He actually understood. He was uneasy about the fact that she went behind his back but seeing her a mess was enough suffering for him. He knew she was truly sorry. But he also knew she needed space.
The next morning when she woke up it was around 2 P.M. She didn't usually sleep that late. When she went to go look for SB she noticed he was gone. His duffle bag wasn't in the closet where it usually is and a couple of clothes from his dresser were gone. She knew she messed up but she didn't think leaving her was the right answer. She couldn't take it. She started to mess his room up. She threw clothes every where and poured all his jewelry onto the floor. She couldn't breath from all the crying and movement at the same time so she layed in his bed and soon enough she was asleep.

Black Mail

When Nicki and SB got back to the car Nicki let out a deep breath. SB looked at her waiting for an explanation. Nicki just looked at him. SB nodded in an understanding way then pulled off. Nicki had her eyes closed most of the ride until she got a text.
Tanya - hope you tell him before I do ;)
Nicki - what do you want!?!
Tanya- you should know
Nicki didn't reply she just thought. She was so deep in her thoughts that she didn't realize they were parked in front of their house.
"Nicki!?!?!"
"Yeah Faree?, I'm sorry"
"It's okay just come on let's go inside it's freezing" Nicki nodded her head in agreement then started to get out the car and make her way into the house. She went upstairs and locked her door then later down in the dark. After SB checked the alarm and locked all the doors he went to go talk to Nicki. He realized the door was closed so he went down to the couch to get some sleep. But he couldn't he wanted to know her secret. It was killing him.
*the next morning*
SB woke up with Nicki starring at him. She was sitting on the couch opposite of him biting her lip nervously. 'I can tell him' she kept repeating to herself. Then she got a text.
Tanya- we don't have to tell him
Nicki- so why'd u bring it up!?
Tanya- I mean u can come over and we can talk about other ways to keep this a secret.
Nicki- NO
Tanya- see you at 7 tonight <3
Nicki sighed loud and noticed SB was now sitting up watching her.
"Hey Faree"
"Wassup Nic? Something bothering you?"
Nicki quickly changed the subject. "I'm hungry Faree I just wanted you to wake up and cook for me" she said forcing a smile. SB knew she was lying but he let her slide, he was too tired to fight.
After breakfast they just chilled out all day. SB was patiently waiting for her to tell him. At around 5:30 he thought she was finally about to tell. "SB?"
"Wow you haven't called me that in a while but what's up?"
"I have to go" Nic said rushing to the door and leaving before he could even object.
(Nickis POV)
What could she want from me? Money? Well let me just go and see. I was kinda anxious to get this over with. Is it that bad? Why am I so scared SB will loose feelings for me if he found out? Damn I think I messed up big time.
(SB POV)
WTF? Where did she go? She couldn't even say where she was going? Maybe if I text her I'll get some answers. Maybe this has something to do with Tanya weird ass. Well I'll see later, I need a nap!.
(No POV)
Nicki pulled up to Tanyas house. She sat outside for a couple minutes because she didn't know if she should go in or not. Finally she took a deep breath and got out the car. Before she even knocked on the door Tanya pulled it open. She was standing there with a big smile on her face.
"Hey Nic"
"What do you want Tanya?"
"Come in" she said still smiling. Nicki hesitantly walked in. The house was dark and there was a smell of candles throughout the living room.
"Are you expecting company?" Nicki asked confused. Tanya ignored her question and walked over to the couch and motioned for Nicki to do the same.
*9:30*
Nicki was drunk and Tanya was ready to set her trap.
"T I know you called me for a reason, what do you want?
Next thing Nicki knew Tanya was kissing her. Nicki didn't pull away at first. She actually kissed back. The kiss lasted about 2 minutes then Nicki pulled away.
"WTF NICKI!?!?"
"I can't do this Tanya, I'm with Safaree and I don't even like girls"
"That's not what that kiss just said"
"Tanya......."
"Nicki......"
Nicki started getting her stuff together so she could go home. "Nicki I swear if you don't give me what I want I'm going to tell him"
"Well what exactly do you want?"
"A relationship with you" Nicki was surprised, she couldn't believe it. She didn't know what to say or do. She just stood there.

Friend or Foe?

When SB was released from the hospital he went home with Nicki and they have been closer then ever. Everybody was happy for them. Except Tanya. Tanya thought it was all bullshit.
(Tanyas POV)
He didn't want her but now that she saved his pathetic ass life he does? Fuck that, he's stupid. He should've been with me but he choose her? Really? I'm pretty, i'm fun. Ugh! I just need to put some sense into Nickis head. Maybe we can have a girls night. She use to love those. I'll text her later and see if she wants to come over.
*Flashback to high school, a week before prom*
"Okay so we all have our dresses but we don't have a date" Nicki said sad as she looked around at Sierra and Tanya. That was her clique, plus SB of course. Sierra and Tanya knew SB liked Nicki but nobody knew Tanya liked SB. It was hard for Tanya but she kept quiet. As the girls talked about it Tanya blurted out, "what about SB?" They didn't think she meant for her but she did. Sierra spoke to soon though "Yes Nic! Go with Safaree. That would be perfect." "I'on know guys" Nicki said slightly blushing. Tanya tried to convince her not to go with him with out being to obvious. Nicki ended up going with SB. And of course Tanya acted happy for them.
*end of flashback*
It was already 6:30 whenTanya texted Nicki.
' Movie night? I miss u'
'Sure thang miss u too, how's 8?'
'Perfect! Luv ya'
Tanya put her phone down and went to the kitchen to make her and Nicki some snacks. She wanted it to be perfect. She been seeing Nicki lately but SB has been there so it's not the same. She didn't even invite Sierra. She wanted it to be her and Nic.
A little after 8 Nicki got to her house. The door was unlocked so she walked right in. "TANYAAAAA?" Nicki yelled. "You know for such a small girl you got a big ass mo....." She stopped in the middle of her sentence.
"What?" Nicki asked
"Why is he here?"
"What do you mean why is he here? Why wouldn't he be....."
"I didn't ask for him! I asked for you!"
"Don't act like we weren't ALL friends Tanya what the fuck is up with you?"
"I wanted time with you, not you AND Safaree" Tanya said putting emphasis on the word and.
SB whispered to Nicki ' I can leave babe I don't mind '
"No!" Nicki said so Tanya could hear, "fuck that we both leave, her disrespectful ass!"
"No Nicki don't go! Please, don't you miss what we had?"
Nickis eyes got big 'I know she isn't about to bring this shit up' she thought to herself.
"Nic what the fuck is she talking about?"
"I don't know Faree let's just go!"
"You know EXACTLY what I'm talking about Nic, but I guess you didn't tell your little boyfriend now did you!?"
Nicki was trying to push SB out the door before Tanya said to much. Nicki never brought it up. It was in the 11th grade. She never thought about it since the day it happened. If SB had to find out she would wanna tell him herself.
"Stop running Nicki! Tell him"
"Shut up Tanya, that was years ago!"
"What was years ago Nic?"
"Nothin...."
"I know your not lying right to my face!"
Nicki got quiet. She was looking down at the floor... How would she tell him?

Time To Celebrate?

Once they made it to Laurens house everyone was already there. SB knew that would be a perfect place for her party because everyone was always there and she always enjoyed being with her friends. 'If she's with Lauren I'll have some time to sneak away' SB thought to himself.
They walked in and everyone rushed over yelling happy birthday and greeting them both. Nicki looked at SB and smiled real big, she was happy.
"Okay Nic I'm gonna go say hi to everyone, enjoy yourself." Then he walked off and noticed she was walking with him.
"Where are you going?"
"With you, I have to say hi to everyone." 'This is gonna be a little harder than I thought! Lets see if there's another way.' SB thought to hisself while they walked around saying hi to everyone.
"Kay I'm hungry, see you later i'll be in the kitchen"
"Omg how'd you know I was starving!?, lets go"
SB gave her the "are you serious face" but she didn't see. He just walked behind her into the kitchen. Finally her favorite song came on and her little brother wanted to dance with her. Once she went into the living room SB slid upstairs to leave his letter. He read over his letter one last time ;
' Nicki, I only came back to say goodbye the right way, staying here means hurting you so i'd rather go. You might not understand now but you will. You-you-y'
He couldn't speak anymore, then he couldn't stand next thing he heard was the music stop downstairs before he began to shake. "SAFAREEEEEEE" Nicki started yelling. "I left him in the kitchen where is he!?!?" Everyone looked at her like she was crazy. "Ugh I should have never left his side!" This made her brother cry because it was his fault she left him. She felt bad and started to go after him upstairs until she seen him turn around and jump into her arms. He was panicking and couldn't speak. "Caiah tell me what's wrong" Nicki said patting his back. But he just pointed up the stairs and cried harder. She didn't understand. "Whose up there lambchop?" Her eyes got big "SAFAREE!?!" He shook his head yes as Nickis eyes got big and full with tears. "Someone call the ambulance hurry! He's sick! Call now ! Wtf are you waiting for!?!?"
"Nicki calm down you haven't seen him how do you know something's wrong?" Lauren asked.
"Lauren just call! He's sick, hurry please" Nicki pleaded in tears as she ran upstairs. Nicki knew about his sickness because his mother told her when he left by accident.
*flashback*
"Mama why are you crying?"
"I know he's grown but he can't be away from me!"
"I feel the same way" Nicki said hugging SB's mother.
"No baby, he's sick! He has Celiac Disease, what if he needs me?"
"He has what!?!?" Nicki asked starting to cry.
*ending his flashback*
Nicki was prepared she ran into the room and held his head up. She saw the note crumbled in his hand but ignored it. She kept eye contact so he wouldn't loose consciousness. When the paramedics arrived they put him on the stretcher and left immediately. "Can I ride with him?" Nicki asked and they looked at the sadness in her eyes and said yes.
*hours later*
"Doctor can you tell me anything?"
"Visiting hours are over Ms. Maraj, you have to come back tomorrow. Nicki said okay but had no intention of leaving. She snuck a chair into his room for her to sleep on and she stayed there.
*the next morning*
SB woke up thinking that last night was a bad dream but when he looked around and realized he was in a hospital he noticed it was real. He had a seizure. SB was in his thoughts so he didn't realize Nicki in the corner starring at him. She didn't make any noise, just smiled. The doctor walked in taking him out of his thoughts.
"Hello Mr. Samuels" he said while walking in.
"Goodmorning" SB said while watching him stop and twist his face.
"Is something wrong?" SB asked getting worried. "Just that visiting hours didn't start yet!" He said looking at Nicki and shaking his head. SB whipped his head around and saw Nicki sitting there and she gave him a half smile. "I'm sorry doctor she's really stubborn, she wouldn't leave even if I told her too."
"I understand, love will do that to you" the doctor said while winking at Nicki. SB just smiled.
"I'm not sure what you've been eating but it's too much gluten. You have to be careful! You nearly died. But Mrs. Stubborn saved your life. Nicki jumped up with her eyes open " I DID WHAT?" "Yes you saved his life, how did you know what to do?"
"When I found out he had Celiac Disease I got myself prepared." She looked down shyly. SB looked at her in amazement. "Baby?" SB said causing Nicki to look up. "Well I will leave you to alone" the doctor said smiling, "I'll be back in a few so be quick" he said now laughing at his own joke while heading out. "He's a mess" Nicki said shaking her head and laughing."Come here" SB said. When Nicki walked over he tugged on her shirt making her bend over then he pulled her into a kiss. She was so happy he felt the same way she did. She could finally be with him.

Two Paths Recrossed (Part 3)

SB didn't want to talk to her. He didn't even want to be looking at her. He looked over at his mother and rolled his eyes. Then he looked back to Nicki without saying a word. Nicki noticed how he was acting and she walked over to his mother to say goodbye. She whispered, 'I love you Ma, i'll call you later" then started to walk to the door when she heard SB laugh. "Oh you love her?" Nicki stopped in her tracks but didn't turn around. "So now you love her Onika answer me." Nicki stayed shut. SB got up and walked behind her. She turned around and he saw the tears in her eyes as she talked. "Yes I love her and she doesn't run away when I say it". Nicki knew that was a low blow but it hurt and he was being a kid about it.
*FLASHBACK*
"I love you Safaree"
When he heard these words he froze momentarily. Then he started to pack his stuff. Nicki was confused but once he never came back she understood that he didn't love her back.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
It hurt her that he didn't say a word. He just left for 4 months, no calls or text. NOTHING. And now here he is in her face still mad about something that she doesn't know about. He looked into her watery eyes and grabbed her face. She thought he was going to hurt her because of the anger in his eyes. 'Why isn't Mama gonna stop him?' She thought as she watched her leave the room. Nickis eyes starred straight into his then to her surprise he pulled her into a long kiss. No words after he just picked up his keys and left. Nicki sat on the couch shocked. She missed him and he's finally back and on her birthday too.
"Can you make him go to the movies with me today?"
"Onika....you wanna spend your 18th birthday in the movie theatre? I think not"
"I just wanna spend it with Safaree" Nicki said blushing.
(SB POV)
Why would I kiss her? I know we can't ever be together! I can't hurt her that way. I gotta tell her but I'm so scared. I shouldn't have come back if I wasn't ready. She's gonna hate me! I just need to stay away. The least I can do it say goodbye the right way. I'll throw her a little party with all our high school friends and while she's having too much fun to notice I'll sneak out.
(4 hours later)
"Hi"
"Hey Faree what's up?"
"Put on your dress and come to my moms house in 30 minutes"
"I don't have a dress"
"It's on your couch, see you in 30"
Nicki was confused she went down on saw a beautiful gold dress with gold shoes to match. "This nigga always forgets my jewelry!" She said out loud then smiled at the gold necklace on the table with a note 'thought I forgot? ICY NIGGA' she laughed while grabbing everything.
(Mama Samuels house)
Nicki pulled up 20 minutes late just like SB knew she would. When she got there she had to use the bathroom but her dress was too tight she knew she wouldn't make it up the stairs in time.
"Faree I have to pee!"
"Nic you know where the bathroom is, go your not a guest."
"Carry me, I won't make it with this tight ass dress you picked out"
"Okay get on my back" she gave him the death glare as he laughed and picked her up to take her to the bathroom. He pushed the fact that he had to tell her he was sick to the back of his mind. He was focused on enjoying the time they had left. To Be Continued...
